Contemporary dance is a dance performance genre which has been created by the influences of classical ballet, modern and jazz. It is technically challenging and focused highly on floor work, core strength, improvisation and performance.

 

Lyrical is an expressive style of dance similar to Contemporary but with a slower and serine tempo.
